MORE INFORMATION
If you look on your tyre's, this will tell you if your bike has 26", 27.5" or 29" wheels. Alternatively you can look up your bike's make and model online.
Remember that a 'wheel' is a rim and a tyre together, our kits will not equate to the stated size until a tyre is fitted. Our kits are only compatible with mountain bike tyres.
Torque arms are more commonly used on high power motors from around 1500W upwards and can be a handy device for customers who are converting bikes with small dropout sections on the frame. They are designed to grip the axel to the frame and add rigidity.
Electric bikes are taking the world by storm as a convenient method of travel making use of a hybrid power source in the form of human pedalling and electric motor propulsion. There are many kinds of e-bikes available but they generally fall into two broad categories: bikes that assist the rider's pedal-power and bikes that add a throttle, allowing for a full electric mode.
Well the short answer is simple… it’s cheaper. Also you have the freedom of customization.
You can walk into your local bike shop and pick up a budget, very basic ready built E-Bike for well in advance of one thousand pounds or there’s the option of purchasing a conversion kit and a battery to build your own for a significant saving. If you have an old bike in the shed, why not convert that? We have seen many different styles of bike converted in some very interesting ways.
For riders who can’t resist the urge for speed, the higher wattage motors are available and a ridiculous amount of fun when flying down a dirt track! A nice sturdy mountain bike combined with the G-VOLT 1500W conversion kit is easily capable of hitting 40mph so you can create your own serious piece of kit.
